Longevity Doctor · Charlotte, NC
A longevity doctor in Charlotte who reads your whole history, not a protocol.
I am Daniel Tagge, MD, a board-certified family physician certified in Health Optimization Medicine, practicing concierge longevity medicine. I interpret your physiology over time, in the context of your history, your goals, the clinical evidence and standard medical assessment, and I stay responsible for what it means. In the Charlotte metro, the work begins in your home.
What it actually means
Longevity medicine is healthspan, held by one physician over years.
Conventional care answers an essential question: is there a disease, and is it treated safely. I ask that question too, and everything I recommend starts from that standard assessment. Longevity medicine adds a second question with a longer horizon: how well is your physiology functioning, which direction is it moving, and what is actually worth doing about it.
The absence of disease does not mean every aspect of your physiology is where it should be. And a hypothesis about what could be optimized is not, on its own, a reason to treat. A longevity physician earns the title by telling those two situations apart, patient by patient, over time.
In my practice you get that read by one physician, in writing, with priorities ranked. The Precision Health Plan is yours to keep, to share with your other physicians, and to act on yourself if you want to.
Reads everything you already have, in one sitting
Prior labs, imaging, family history, what has been tried and what happened. Most people arrive with years of data that has never been read together, and the pattern across it is usually more informative than any single result.
Interprets your physiology longitudinally
In the context of your own history and prior results, your goals, the clinical evidence, and standard medical assessment. A normal result is good news. A normal result that has been moving in one direction for ten years is also information.
Chooses testing for you, not from a menu
Standard laboratory assessment first. Advanced testing when the result is likely to change a decision, and a plain statement when something is not worth pursuing.
Stays responsible for the decisions, over years
A written Precision Health Plan, revised as your physiology and your life change, with one physician accountable for what it says and for saying so when a hypothesis does not justify treatment.
The methodology in full, including where it sits beside functional, integrative and preventive medicine, is on the longevity page.
Comparing your options
A physician practice, not a testing storefront.
Charlotte has good options for buying tests, imaging, hormones and supplements quickly, and for some people that is exactly what they want. What a package cannot include is a physician who has read your whole history, who is responsible for what the results mean for you, and who will still be responsible in five years.
Three things are checkable before you spend anything here. The credential: board-certified family physician, North Carolina’s first physician fully certified to practice Health Optimization Medicine, verifiable with the certifying body. The model: testing chosen for you, billed by the laboratory at its own price with no markup from me, and imaging ordered when your risk warrants it rather than bundled as the product. And the relationship: the same physician every time, in your home across the Charlotte metro.
What I read
Bring whatever you already have.
Longevity care is a synthesis before it is a plan. The more context it has, the more specific it gets, and most people arrive with more data than they realise.
Labs
Anything you have, old and new. Standard panels, lipid and metabolic markers, inflammation, hormone and micronutrient results. Read together, in order of when they were drawn.
Wearable data
Continuous glucose, heart rate variability, sleep, training load. Patterns over weeks matter more than any single day.
Genetic testing
Consumer or clinical genetic results, if you have them. Read as context for the rest of the picture, never as a verdict on their own.
Medical history
Prior workups, imaging, family history, what has been tried, what worked, what did not. The full chart, read in one sitting.
Symptoms and goals
What you actually feel, what you want to change, and what success looks like to you. Data without context is noise.
How to start
Apply first. Care begins with the Assessment.
You apply, I read it myself, and I follow up with you after review. If we are a good fit, care begins with the Precision Health Assessment: one thorough visit, in your home across the Charlotte metro, your records read before we meet, and your written Precision Health Plan after. It stands on its own. If we decide to keep working together afterward, that is a separate decision, and the Assessment becomes the foundation for ongoing Precision Partnership.
